For my work I use traditional oil on canvas technique; most of my paintings are done this way.
I also use batik technique, which is creating patterns on fabric, usually cotton, by covering it with hot wax.
I use a brush and a tjanting (pattern) to achieve this. Then I put the colour on it. Spaces covered with wax are left colourless.
When it is dry, you can put another wax layer and colour it with some darker colour. After completing this process I crease the fabric to make cracks on the wax surface.
Then I put the darkest colour; where the cracks were, there is a spider web now. It gives a very interesting and unrepeatable effect.
At the end the fabric is iron pressed through a white paper sheet.
